Education Program Offers Six Tracks

The AWFS Fair’s signature education conference, the College of Woodworking Knowledge, will present more than 55 sessions to help attendees stay on top of what’s new and informed on best practices to help the industry grow.
Sessions are offered as talks, panels, workshops, and tours fitting into six tracks:
Business — The Business Track covers everything: marketing strategies, pricing, mergers & acquisitions, profiting from wood waste, and more. These are the sessions for any shop owner or manager to attend.
Technology — Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Machinery are explored in the Technology Track. These sessions showcase current and emerging technologies that all businesses should be taking advantage of to stay current in manufacturing.
Production — The Production Track covers all things Furniture, Cabinetry, Techniques, and Materials. Sessions are for any size shop on best practices for manufacturing wood products. Part of this track are hands-on workshops on CNC and epoxy for the production shop.
Educator — This Educator Track is dedicated to teachers, administrators, and anyone else in education looking to connect with the industry and promote careers in wood manufacturing. Session in CAD for the Woodshop, AI for Educators, and more give the tools needed for schools to promote wood manufacturing.
Workforce — The Workforce Track is open to both industry and education and the connection between them. For educators, how to network with industry and get support for your program. For industry, how to develop a skilled worker pipeline and develop talent in-house.
Field Trip — The new Field Trip Track blends education and the show floor with curated tours given by experts in targeted themes: Kitchens, Closets, Furniture, Educator/Student, Spanish Language, and Getting Started in the Industry. Attendees get introduced to exhibitors in their area of interest, key contacts, and project plans.
